Almost all pregnant women need to get more protein, more of certain vitamins and minerals and more calories (for energy). There is a need for proper nutrition during pregnancy, as the mother's nutritional status will affect the development of her baby.

It is during the time of pregnancy when various changes take place in the expectant mother's body. Every mother-to-be needs to understand the benefits of good nutrition prior to and during her pregnancy as well as the risks posed by some foods. A balanced diet that includes a daily prenatal vitamin and enough folic acid can minimise many potential problems in pregnancy including some birth defects.

During pregnancy, you are feeding two, you and your baby. You are giving your baby the best start in life when you eat balanced meals, drinking pure water and avoid processed junk food, raw seafood, undercooked meat, unpasteurized soft cheeses, and other foods with a higher chance of bacterial contamination.

Many women love the idea of the birth of their new baby to be as least traumatic and natural as possible. Unfortunately, it doesn’t always work out that way. While you’re in labour, in the care of your midwife or medical practitioner I can accompany you to provide Aromatherapy, Reflexology, and Acupressure Massage to help you through your birthing process.
